ALL,
As expected this happened, but it happened sooner than expected.
This expected sooner because CIR was voted out in Senate and this was not thought about by this goverment.
Basically this was a close door arrangement between govt agencies which temporarily wanted to lower the friction by IV AND SIMILAR GROUPS.
BUT finally I believe this will come to a rest once we have new government next year.
Till that we are a tennis ball which can be tossed to any court.
PS: I dont even have I-140 and not even applied for one.
So best of luck to all and me.

All,
Over the past few days we have been successful in getting good media attention BUT except for NYT, the coverage has not focused on the issues that are relevant and will draw the attention of the policymakers. I think the media drive should focus on getting the following issues highlighted:
1. Lapse in protocol when issuing green cards
a) Green cards issued WITHOUT security clearence
b) Green cards issued to those whose PD was NOT current in June
2. Obvious intent to NOT accept applications in July so that they can receive the same with a higher fee in the future. This at the cost of making a mockery of hundreds of thousand of hopeful legal immigrants
I think the media drive should focus and highlight the above and other key issues rather than merely reporting on the sequence of events. Please share your thoughts and add to the list above

Currently, I am working with software firm (not a contract work). My wife is re applying for H4 visa. she applied for h4 last year in Feb, i used to work with contracting firm then and refused under 214b(immigration intent). This time we are applying through attorney. Attorney have sent email thrice to Islamabad consulatein Pakistan stating that denial under 214(b) for H4 is not valid reason.
But no response from them.
However my wife is applying again and taking letter with her from attorney stating that reason was invliad.
I am wondering
1- Do we need to highlight the previous denial so much as she is applying on new h1B now
2- in any case, can they revoke and cancel my petition as if they do not find any valid reason to reject again.

i am in a small problem and it would be great if someone could help me out.
i came in us on f1 visa in jan2008 and i completed my mba in dec 2010. my opt expired on 31st march 2010. but before my SEVIS could expire i transfered my SEVIES to new college for summer term. now my visa is for 5 years ending on jan 2013. i know as long as i stay in US i am maintaining my status. but now i need to go home for few days. So how is it going to wrok for me? Do i need to go for new visa stamping or can i come back on same visa ? if i need to get new visa can i get it done in US before going home ? What are my option and what are my chances of coming back?

I've been visiting forums for the past 2 weeks since my petition at CSC is pending under Premium Processing. I don't think this is accurate especially for I-129 pending at CSC, VSC as I see in the forums that for several people its taking more than 2 months for regular H-1B.
IN my case, I filed under PP at CSC on 25th May. They received via fedex on 27th May, but they issued me a receipt on 6th June only. Going at all the forums, it appears its happening with everyone. Then they issue a RFE on the 14th day of the receipt.

Such an action would be illegal, but CIS has already stopped accepting I- 485 applications for another category known as "Other Workers," despite June Visa Bulletin showing that category is current. My advice to all of you is keep filing all through the month of July. For all we know, they may never issue such an illegal policy or they might lose a lawsuit filed against them. So keep filing.

I have 3 questions
1)what should be the time period between the Job switch from one employer to another after 6 months of filing of I-485.(AC-21)
2)Is it required to be employed until i get my actual GC ?
3) I am in the period of AC-21 (i.e 180 days completed after my I-485 filing)
If I marry to GC holder . Do i still have to maintain my independent status of I-485 or i can be given some status because of marrying to him..
