We can predict EB2 movement but EB3 is kind of gone case for this year too. Without any CIR, we can just pray that EB2 for all countries become current or at least move until july fiasco date (Aug 2007) so that spillover starts trickling to EB3.
Since EB2 I/C after Aug 2007 PD haven't filed their I-485 yet so the visa numbers if any left out by clearing until Aug 2007 should go to EB3I (the most retrogressed country). I don't see it happening this year but in 2010 it's a possibility.

My point - I am going to take things in a stride, basically wait till I can - doesn't hurt me as long as I go about my daily routine.
All who are thinking of jumping the fence and giving up, one piece of advice - if you do not have kids and plan to have any in this life, please do it NOW - have them be born here (all of them) and then move on with whatever / wherever you want to go.
At least this is a gift you will be giving your kids for their lifetime and all the generations following them (remember - a US citizen's kid can be a US citizen no matter where he/she is born) - so you will be arranging US citizenship for all your great^n * grand * kids (0 <= n <= infinity) !
This is how I think about it when I do not think about MYSELF. Once the kids are born, you can flaunt their American Passports and feel happy in their well-being and security (for whatever it is worth) and move on to Canada / India / Singapore / wherever! Live happily.
And do not forget your kids can sponsor you when they are 21.

Any trend of backlogs getting cleared?
My employer is a big wall street investment bank, and they have filed my PERM on May 14th.
The trend for PERM certification at Atlanta, as per my employer is between 90-120 days. Because they handled so many PERM cases at Atlanta, they know this trend.
Nothing muck we can do here. Just pray and hope for the best.

Like many others I have been following IV since July 2nd. Post July 17th reversal, just like everybody else I was tracking 485 receipts. I did make a promise to myself to contribute to IV once I get the receipts. That's the least I can do. I would have loved to go to DC on the 18th but unfortunately wouldn't be able to make it due to family reasons.

you dont need to give any test for renewing DL in NJ untill 3 years after the expirydate of the DL. Only after 3 years of expiry, you will need to give a written test.
I got this info from the NJ DMV office a few weeks ago.
NY WILL ISSUE DRIVER�S LICENSES REGARDLESS OF IMMIGRATION STATUS...

Legal immigrants carry on suffering... My NJ Drivers License expires tomorrow and my H1B extension just got approved yesterday. NJ DMV won't renew my license without the original approval notice and I may have to take the written test again once the license expires.,

Received an email from CRIS yesterday. They have issued a FRE on my I-485. I can not think of anything. My immigration history is clean, no status issues, ever. I remember submitting all the docs during July fiasco. I am waiting for the actual RFE letter to arrive.
Only good part is - there is someone "OUT THERE" who looked at my file.

Will you be brave enough (if not foolhardy enough) to reproduce whatever you said here in a letter and send it out to the USCIS? Trust me, you'll not since you'd act politely and professionally to make out your case. We expect you to act with decorum when you discuss pertinent issues in IV forum.
