Trust me, after waiting at PBEC for almost 2 years,I know what BEC is. I was just saying that a person who got LC certified in 2004 didn't have to go thru BEC. They started transferring cases at the beginning of 2005.

I'm not getting what's your point. All I am telling this guy and others that I need some statistics and why it is important to me. People who like my point will write them and people who will not like my point but still have the problem will modify the letter accordingly and people who should not care since they are not affected should just ignore this thread and move....

I will not be able to make it for the rally, my one-cent contribution, also trying to convience some friends to make some contributions. Also I want to make a suggestion, Please urge Congress via banners or what so ever means to take Legal Immigration and Illegal Immigration separately. We are so badly being hit by congress combining these issues.We are legal taxpaying immigrants and should be treated the same way. Not equivalent to illegal immigrants.

I think the biggest lesson for you will come in through this thread itself. You may find, after all, its not that easy to motivate people to take action, much less form a coherent strategy and run with it.
My guess is in the end you will come out cursing not just the core but all IV members for them lacking or something, because they can't get on board with your idea.
The only reason IV has been able to achieve something with such a low amount of "per capita" effort is because it's an "apoltical" and "volunteer" organization. You change that to "political", and amount of effort (time and money) people will contribute will fizzle out before you can have your post election party!
My suggestion: Open a parallel organzation. Learn what it takes to get people on board with your agenda. if you DELIVER SOMETHING, people will automatically follow you.
Funds will follow if people see viability. Anywaz nothing is coming out of lobbying efforts so currently how does it even matter ?

But this generally applies to people affected by retrogression. If one isn't affected by retrogression, applies for I-140 after 5/15/2007 and gets green card before 10/1/2008 (which is possible) then that person should be ok, is that right?
My guess is that while processing the I-485, they will check the filing date for the I-140. If it was filed before May 15th 2007 and the PD is current, they will process it. If it was filed after May 15th 2007, then they won't process the I-485 since the I-140 is invalid.

Thank you karan007, pvhemanth, zappy, dvrao4, lp2007 and permfiling for the contributions. I am so happy that we were able to conclude this round with the help of only the junior members. Some of you have not posted much. Obviously, you found lot of things on this site that piqued your interest. I appreciate the fact that you did not hesitate to pull the trigger. Because of you, we can close this round and move to the final round.
I hope the final round starts with a person who visits this site regularly, find helpful suggestions and tips, and is generally happy with things moving in the right direction and knows IV is an important part of this process. Even though he supports the rally, he cannot come because he probably lives on the west coast, but would have definitely attended the rally if he or she were working in NJ, MD, PA, VA or any other neighboring states. He doesn�t have many questions to ask, but once in a while she does have a quick question, but rejects that idea because of the process involved. Are you sure it was Atlanta and not Chicago?. Your timeline suggests it was applied in Chicago.

For EB3, DOS had predicted that in the Oct. 2008 VB, dates would be reinstated to the June 2008 (not June 2007) VB dates. This means that if that is still going to be true, Oct. 2008 VB dates would be Nov 2001. Where do you get June 2003 as the EB3 VB dates?
Am I missing something here? But if your prediction is true, I will buy you dinner!!!

I want to know if somebody knows what is going on with Atlanta perm lab center?I applied in Feb 2007 for perm labor and I checked my staus online almost every day.In jUNE 2007 IT SAID ''CERTIFIED''.My lawyer was waiting for the paper in mail..I checked again the status in July 2007and it said ''In progress''.Can somebody explain for me why is like that? What advice do you give me?

One of my friends received labor approval from Philly. His priority is October 2003, EB3, Non-RIR. Of course, my PD is from November 2001 and one other guy's is from August 2002. They were not processed, but my friend got a break from the drab BEC. Strange things happen in life. :)
