Why is there so much discussion surrounding this stimulus package, I thought all of were highly skilled, high educated clique who made the big $$.
I have seen numerous occasions where people boast of large pay packets, bill rates, and now this is a measly $1,200, an amount that could be made with working 2 days is generating such a huge discussion. This does not add up???
Not everybody on this forum earns 144,000 a year. What world are you living in my friend? Do you not get out that often?

This is aboslutly not possible; he/she is trying to fool every one.
I think you are unnecessarily suspecting her posting. Retrogression kicked in Oct 2005 bulletin. So it is possible for her to apply in Feb 2005. I know for sure some people got their GC with similar priority dates. I think this whole immigration crap is turning everyone into cynical.

Had anybody have to send Driving License for filing extention of h1b?
I am not understanding if sending DL is an issue or your concern is just over why USCIS is even asking for it?? USCIS does lot of things in unexpected way.. so I won't be surprised...

What spillover for EB3 you are talking about? Based on how they interpreted the spillover law last year, EB3-I can't get any spillover until EB2-I and EB3-ROW is current and thats decade away.
I am just trying to get the facts. I am not against EB3-I as I myself is EB3-I and waiting for my turn since last 7 years.

I Agree with you, EB3 I will never ever be current unless there is a resolution or releaf passed by Mr Change (Obama) or his lobby, there is no light beyond this tunnel until we see some releaf which does not look getting this year atleast and may be another couple of years.
Predictions are good to just hear and watch and here predictions are like lovely dreams which will never come true unless untill any big chnage is taken place, and the only person who i have hope with to do something for EB3 I is President Obama.
But he is kind of busy with other important issues and our issue is not that important for him reason may be we are not his vote bank and will get to the curve of getting the GC when we are very close to our graves.
This is really furstating and freinds sorry to express my frustration here on this forum but i am done and just look at my PD Dec 2001 for the past 1 year i hear from my lawyer you are just the next badge and should be current in the next bulletin.
I think we should live everything aside and just do our best at work thats what i am doing and thank god for getting our bread and butter in this economy.

Adjudication means the process of an adjudicator going thro' your file to see whether you are eligible for adjustment!
Here pre-adjudication means irrespective whether the PD is current or not or availabilty of visa numbers the adjudication process continues.
In other words even though visa numbers are "U" till October they would not simply warm their seats but do something !

I am an H1B holder.... my wife holds an H4. Her DL expired and it has been impossible to get her a renewal. On our last discussion it was brought to our attention that their could be a discrepancy between DHS data (my wife's birthday) even it shows correct in all documents printed by them and the Indiana's BMV database. Meanwhile she is holding 'Temporarily Driving Permits' (piece of paper) that expires every 30 days....

I think they have to be current when they get an appointment or something like that. I am pretty sure that they accounted those 18k as CP numbers
Definitely not when you get the appointment. I am 100% certain of that. There have been cases of people going for the consular appointment and not getting it as dates retrogressed.
Only possibility is that the cases up to May were the 66K for 485s PLUS 18K for CP throughout the year until may. Right now noone wanting to get into the system will go for CP.

Most of the Indian companies (TCS, Wipro, Infy, etc) have more than 50% H1Bs, I believe.
They will bring/hire more resources to near shore (if not onsite) Brazil/Canada to satisfy clients...This year the demand for H1b is around 25K.... next year that may go down to 10-15K... good for future EB -AOS applicants.. :-)

I was in India recently for a 2 months vacation, and some work from our Indian office,. First few days were tough , lot of dust , traffic , pollution, But after 2 weeks i was loving it the old way .. and when i was flying back i realized I love Delhi .

When i was in India, i went to best hotels for food (2000Rs buffets) virtually every week.,just went to NY once for a 200$ buffet, in 6 years.
So everyone has to take a personal decision, based on personal factors..
I went on a business trip to Delhi and Mumbai last year for about 10 days. I stayed at very expensive hotels (Leela in Mumbai, don't remember the Delhi one) but somehow I did not feel that it was worth the $300+ a night or so. The hotels were about the same standard as a Best Western or a Holiday Inn in the US which tend to go for $60-80 usually. There were no reasonable budget options for $100 like in the US. The value for money seems much less in India IMO. I have been to China and Brazil too and the general standards there seem to be orders of magnitude higher.

I am in a similar boat I got by second 140(EB2) approved this week. How do I know if my date is ported? Acutually I dont care about porting date I just want to find out if my new approved 140 is now referrencing my 485(filed under EB3) filed in July 2007.

Did you check the New I140 approval notice? The priority date on the latest I140 will have your Old PD. I believe its also advised you file an interfiling request.

It is not a big deal dude...if not for this immigration system, we could be making even more..think about $80-$100/hr if you are an independent contractor. This a minimum for a decent contract with vendor directly.
And if you have ~100-200K for investments, with some experience and any luck..you could be making another 100K out of it from trading and active investing in other areas. That comes to ~250-300K minimum. There are no bounds when life is free and in this great country. Unfortunately, things have turned discriminative and our potentials are being restricted(atleast for non-EAD guys) and you have to be prepared for getting outright kicked out of this country.

Transfer of labor (dated Dec 2006) in April 2007
Labor approved before July -2007 fiasco but did not apply I-485 to get married and be with family.

Any comments on this dual intent option and how it will effect current 485/140 ? As this supposed to effect cases of 140 filed after 15 may 07 ? Or where does it state in bill the same? If thats the case then there is no point of employment based immi at all

Getting a loan from ICICI is very easy and convenient, but they rip you off on interest rates. So you have to evaluate the pros and cons. HDFC gives better rates and pretty reasonable service. Bottomline : its a trade off between interest rates and the service(ease of getting loans).
Just for fyi.. I have a loan with ICICI and pretty happy with my deal.

Well, so far so good for me. As per Zillow estimate, my home value is now 10k more than my purchase price. It depends on where you're buying.
I guess that when the economy starts climbing up and people starts buying houses, interest rate will also climb up to 6%. At 6%, I need to pay $400 more per month.
