Why don't you listen to others on this forum? No one is out to screw H-1s and/or GC aspirants as far as the rebate is concerned. Read the previous post by gg10004. The law is not differentiating between a H1 and GC aspirant or a US citizen if none of them have a valid SSN. It is just unfortunate that H4s do not get SSNs. So stop getting paranoid.
Moreover, your response that your title "No Stimulus Package to H1's and GC Aspirants - Again We Loose 1200$" is justified because titles are not for stories or whatever makes you look like an utter idiot. Titles are for accurately reflecting the gist of the thread. If you have an issue with adding 5 more words to reflect the reality, then add only one word: "No Stimulus Package to SOME H1's and GC Aspirants - Again We Loose 1200$".

I totally agree that is a very unfair measure against the whole H1-B community and all of us here especially for lots of us who come from large Indian technology companies. Having said that, don�t we all agree that the mess we are in including the Green Card retrogression is driven by the fact that this H1-B system was grossly misused by the unscrupulous body shops and consulting companies run primarily by Indians in US. These companies not only reduced the quality of Indian Professionals which was sort after by American Technology companies but also has made the skill set of every Indian professional seeking a job doubtful because of the widespread practice of dressing up the resumes. I am sure this had to happen sooner or later and unfortunately the ethical Indian companies have also got caught in this.

Thanks a bunch for all of you who contributed today, I read each and every post and felt very content that atleast there are people who feel the same way like I feel. IV is the only org that stands for us. It is time to strengthen it, Most of you have no idea how much money is really needed for lobbying, and how far it can take us if each of us contributed a little every month.
Minimum $50/month.

It looks like they have heard from IV members about the spillover rules and their clarification about the QUARTERLY spillover is useful. Also them categorically stating that any spillover visas would be used in strict order of PD is reassuring. Whether they actually practice or not, it is good that they have gone on record as saying that is the way it should be.
In the past spillover was not applied in the way they are saying and EB2I suffered greatly for it.
This spillover rules if enforced will accelerate EE2I movement initially and then EB3. I suspect that by this summer EB2I folks from 2007 should be seeing some action.

we have to convince the PBEC working folks that it is in their interest ..to finish by Sept end...
I am thinking about fax them a letter like this.......
PBEC center has not performed well enough until now...This year some form of immigration reform would be passed..When that passes, there would be a lot of work in terms of immigration processing/legalization..If the PBEC/Exceed does not shape up and complete by September...We would urge the congress not to give Exceed corporation any further federal contracts..
Only thing is my application is stuck in there and I donot want to put my name there because every dog/bitch has nuisance value...

My wife's DL expired in June 2007. We got her extension in April 2007 for next 3 years. FYI: It took only 40 days to get the approval. Applied in PP.
We noticed the incorrect DOB in her approval notice. Attorney contacted CIS about this. We got a letter from CIS asking us to wait for 30 days to review her case. It is 90+ days since we reported CIS's typographical error. They took 40 days to approve the extension but they are taking more than 90 days to correct the DOB and issue a copy. Congrats CIS!.
Because of CIS's typographical error, we are facing hell of problems. She couldn't renew her DL. We went to DL office. We were asked to file a complaint. That takes ANOTHER 10 to 12 months to get the feedback from DL office.
I don't know what to do other than just WAIT!.

My DL expring in Sept. filed for 10th year extenison, I live in NY.
NY DL have 2 dates, One in Top with RED Bold letters its called Temp Visa Date and at botton DL exprie date. I have contacted in DMV office. They said I can drive using bottom Exprie date which is exprie in 2010(mine) ,But I cant use the DL as ID if Temp VISA expire on DL.Unless I renew it with approved H1B visa date.So I have to Carry Passport ,recepit copy and Employer lettter with all time just as proof if cop caught me.

I am very junior member on IV forums and have listened to all the experts and senior members on IV from time to time. Very solid ideas and very intelligent people! Although, I am not too familiar with the intricacies of what DOS said or what USCIS said; what I know is that there are many thousands of us who are here in a limbo for many many years. I think we have been "super- nice" to USCIS and Congress in the way we have approached them for our problems and rightly so - thats just us!
We have done our best educate them via lobbying efforts etc but wouldnt you agree that its time be a little more "assertive' now. Seriously, we dont know what the bigger picture is here. Year after Year, Month after month nothing moves with USCIS. Same old grim Visa Bulletin. I had written elsewhere that I dont even remember what my dates are anymore! Being in a western country or anywhere else in the world for 10-12 years is a long time. The culture, the enviroment and the system grows on you. Most of us left from India or elsewhere, when we were in our mid 20s . As young adults most of were explorers - soaking information, knowledge, new skills etc as we embarked on our journey to settle down in a foreign country. I think its fair to say that most of us have actually acquired our adult wisdom here. What I am getting to, is that when people talk about packing their bags and going back home - it may only be easier said than done!
I am not an expert at this but I believe we may have to come together again and we will need more visibility - maybe a six month long agressive assertive campaign - letters, flowers, rally and more all together so that we can catch congress' attention. It seems like legislation is the only way out here. Again, please pardon my inability to comprehend issues correctly, if I am wrong in saying so, but if we continue to rely on visa bulletins and USCIS; nothing is going to happen. All I can say is that whatever leaders and intellects at IV decide, I am here in anyway you all need me to help! Please feel free to ask for help at jaisinghaII@gmail.com. They could have done this and re-captured visas with additional fees or whatever. And called it greencard fraud fees it that makes them happy. But the fact is they did not want to do anything to give relief to Immigrants. Recapture (hundreds of thousands of visas) would have significantly helped helped retrogressed countries like EB3 India, China, ROW and EB2 India China. They can take additional fees as long as we know the recapture is being done.
Just looking at the employment based inventory statistics, if every applicant were charged $2000 for visa recapture, it is close to $400M for uncle sam. All EB backlogs would be eliminated, new immigrants would continue contributing to Social security, pay taxes, buy new homes, invest etc... Cant they see the potential upside to this?

IV will become ready for elections when we have real candidates with real faces. I request all real candidates to publish their photos and accomplishments, their ideas for the organization; so that we can choose the best person for the job.

I feel that initiator of this thread is not trying a coup d'�tat. He is merely pointing to the fact that every organization runs by elected officials. Having a life term president and core group is only heard in autocratic systems but not in a democratic one. What are we as an organization?
Why are we afraid of discussing new ideas? Why shouldn't we open up IV organization for elections? There is nothing wrong in declaring the rules and then playing by those rules.
So I completely support the guy who came up with this suggestion.

Black_logs are you ABSOLUTELY sure that they eat into the EB3 numbers? On the Visa Bulletin, they have a seperate entry below the EB3. Just curious if we are getting this Schedule A thing correctly
