looks like there main purpose was to deny us filing 485 application....i cannot believe they could go to such lengths to prevent high loads of work which they feared.
It was better for them to work 1 weekend 24/7 (nonstop) rather than working everyday for 8 hours (which is what our application may have caused them to do)

I think you are wrong ( I just think)
H1b and AOS are two differnt things and are not coupled. A yearly h1b extension beyond 6 years is given if you have a Labor pending for more than an year or pending 140 more than one year and a 3 year h1b extension is granted if you have an approved 140.
So the basis of getting a h1b extension or transfer is 140 and not AOS. One may not have even applied for AOS but can get h1 extensions as long as the above conditions are satisfied.
This is based on what I know. Thats why Attorneys prefer h1b compared to EAd because h1b essentially gives time for you to change jobs/apply for new GC petition in case existing petition has tons of issues etc...

At least I won't give u red dots if you can enlighten us how to get us out of this mess. And yes, we do want our green card so I don't think we can stop the process or stop spending money on that. Also please advise us how to bring all 70K people under one umbrella?
I dont mind getting Red Dots, But please, for god's sake. Stop doing this fruitless campaign. Do you guys think Giving a Clock or sending flowers solved earlier problems. Enough of this Gandhiian ways. This country is not good for people like Gandhi. May be Flower campaign got noticed and created a whole new experience for the USCIS, but i dont think it really helped them do anything in our favor. Already, folks here are wasting their money, year after year, on their EADs and APs for them and their family. Just think for a second guys, It costs us 1000 $ to maintain status on AOS and visit our family and this is going on indefinitely for our years now. USCIS/Congress does not want to do anything about this, They are happy to get the revenue. Even if you think a minimum of 200,000 people spending 1000 $ an year, it is 200,000,000 $. Iam not even considering the amount they spent on other things like H1B extension, H4s..... Just think about the Dollars they are making on this Green Card SCAM. Accept it or not, it is indirectly affecting our lives, even though, GC is not really important for lot of folks. Iam one such person, I have a good client and a decent employer and iam with the same folks for 9 years and they are happy extending my H1b at their cost. But still, this whole GC game, is sometimes disturbing. They are playing with our emotions and our loved ones. So, GUYS we need to take a bigger and bolder step. To me, Calling people, sending flowers and letters explaining the situation makes no sense. Do you think, those guys dont really know about our situation. Let us a make a bold move. We are 70,000 folks just here in ImmigrationVoice. Let us compile a letter,that pushes USCIS/Congress on improving the condition. As long as they get those EXTRA Dollars, i dont think anything is going to happen. Even if they remove the provision to apply for GC while on H1B, it is good for us, for we will know that in advance and can plan on shaping our future better, instead of this false promise and emotional torture. I think even AILA or other Lawyers are useless. They dont want to do anything for us. All they do is, interpret the LAW , and explain us in the way we can understand. They dont take steps to fight for the justice. All they care is the money. So let us make our point clear to USCIS, we dont want to waste money on EADs and APs and H1B extensions. To me, it should be free of cost, since it is their problem that they dont work efficiently. Why should we pay 1000s of dollars for their inefficiency. let us all 70,000 work together in sending a letter to USCIS or Congress that We are not willing to spend any more money on the GC knowing that we are not going to get it anyway. I'm looking for homeloan options in India. Which bank would be good to apply for home loans.
Was thinking about ICICI bank but got scared after going through the other thread about how ICICI bank is into stealing.
I would appreciate it if anyone can give me few suggestions on this.

As many members posted, avoid ICICI. When you apply for loan, they will come to you and lick your feet and will do all sorts of promise about services. But after you take loan, you won't find same level of service.
But whatever bank you decide to go with, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. It is not safe at all in their hand. Some banks requires SSN and some don't. ICICI requires SSN and credit report authorization. Negotiate with them. We negotiated with them and refused to give them social security number. We generated credit report ourselves and crossed out SSN and all account numbers from it properly. We did the same thing with other documents ie paystubs etc.
We have two home loans one with ICICI and another with SBI. We have better experience with SBI. My parents are power of attorney holder and they mostly deal with bank and according to them SBI is much better then ICICI do deal with locally. We have now decided to prepay our loan with ICICI in next 6 months in full.
Again remember DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.

Concurrent filing can be done by anyone with approved Labor Certification. Schedule A applicants already have pre-approved LC.
This means, that not only Schedule A can file concurrently but also others as well.

Agree with you, tinamatthew, regarding H1C visa, but my emploier does not want to waist his time for this, the chanses are too slim to get one of 500 H1C..., so I decided not to mention about it.
Maybe.... , the july victory might help, I just hope they will approve my DS230 this time, because previous DS230 was out of date, and they asked to submit it again.
But it is only one case, other nurses are still in the long process with CGFNS, and VisaScreen, then I140, with the huge backlog in the Visa Center , and so on...I am not against all these procedures, I believe it is a necessity, but the long immigration process for nurses is neither fair nor correct from healthcare and economic point of view.
So I believe for the majority of foreign nurses the July VB is not helpful in anyway.

My application was sent on June, 14th and delivered on June 15th (I have the FedEx tracking info and signature page confirming 6/15).
The case status online based on receipt number (obtained by calling them a few times until I got lucky) says:
"On July 11, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case."
Not sure if the online status is referring to the receipt date or the notice date when it says "On July 11, 2007, we received" when, in fact, they received it on June 15th!!

If you are stuck at Atlanta PERM backlog center , please email your case number and explain them that your application has been pending for a LONG time and request them to help us get out of this grave situation. Also, please post on this thread after you have sent an email so that others can be motivated to do the same. We need to send as many emails as possible to get any positive feedback. I know that DOL mentioned that they will start processing our applications soon, but we need to keep up the pressure from our end so that it has some positive effect.
I know most of the people on this forum are not in this situation ..... but let's see how many can come out of this selfishness and help others by emailing / phoning DOL Atlanta to help other brothers who want to file AOS just like them...... Mine is a NSC-CSC-NSC 485, july 2nd filer, with Apr 2007 EB2 Priority.
I got Hard and soft LUDs on 2/5/09 and 2/10/09 resp.
Hard LUD says, my case is now pending. (before it was 'this case has been transfered ...).
No idea wht the soft LUD means, might be no RFE.
BTW, I used EAD and also filed AC21 thru my lawyer.

It is not the right thing -- from your perspective, because you can't take advantage of it. From the USA point of view multinational executives can potentially create jobs and that's why they must be allowed

They are here to to make the transition happen from Onshore to Offshore. I have complete knowledge on how this EB1 thing works , as I was one of them once upon a time before taking up my current job.
And to make things more clear, I didn't quit the job just because I wasn't getting a chance to file in EB1, its because you are expected to work 24/7, Yes I mean 24/7 having to take calls midnight, logging and working from home in odd hours, any day time with offshore, onshore, clients and paid like 65k. Life sucked and I couldn't take it any more and had to leave..
